The Old Pharmacy

The Old Pharmacy is a wine bar, bistro and grocery store housed in a 500 year old building that was previously a Pharmacy. A daily changing blackboard menu offers a selection of small dishes to share using homegrown ingredients from our farm and the tiny adjacent shop sells grocery items to take away as well as Roundhill coffee, organic wines and local cider.

The Three Horseshoes, Batcombe

In the village of Batcombe, The Three Horseshoes is located in a 17th Century Inn, opened by Margot Henderson. A cosy local pub, with two beautiful dinings rooms, a courtyard and lawn for outdoor dining.

Westcombe Dairy is a Somerset dairy farm, specialising in cheese, charcuterie and regenerative farming. They specialise in traditional cheese making methods and use milk from their own pasture-reared cows to create award winning cheddar. Head to their farm shop to pick up our favourite Westcombe cheese and homemade Charcuterie.

How To Find Us

The fastest way to arrive from London by train is to take a direct service from Paddington to Castle Cary station which takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, followed by a short 12 minute taxi ride to Osip.

You can also get a train to Bruton station but this normally involves a change. Bruton train station is a 7 minute taxi ride to Osip.

We are a 1 hour drive from Bristol airport and a 2.5 hour drive from (west) London.

How do I book?

RESTAURANT
We take our reservations via our website up to 120 days in advance – just click “Book a Table” and follow through the simple steps. We do not take a deposit but do ask for card details to be stored, which are only used in the event of a no-show or a cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice. For groups of 6 or more the notice period is 48 hours. If you would like more specific information or are struggling to find your desired reservation, please email us at info@osiprestaurant.com.

ROOMS
We take our reservations via our website up to 120 days in advance.

Full payment for the bedroom will be taken within the cancellation policy – seven days before arrival. All extras will need to be settled on departure.

FLYING INTO LONDON
From central London it is only a 3 hour drive.

FLYING INTO BRISTOL
It is a short 1 Hr 15 mins drive.

TRAVELLING BY TRAIN
You can travel direct from London Paddington which is around 2 hours Train, or you can get a faster Train to Castle Cary at 1hr 30 mins.

Do you cater for dietaries and allergies?

We gladly accommodate most dietary requirements with prior warming. We require a minimum of 48-hours’ notice of dietaries or intolerances otherwise there is a risk we may not be able to accommodate on the day. We also ask that you specify the number of people in your party who have a given request.

Please note, we are unable to cater for those with Vegan or Dairy free requirements.

Am I able to buy a gift voucher?

Of course you can, we use a third-party partner to look after these for us. You can either have an e-Voucher or for a small fee they will send out a beautiful paper copy.

How does the menu work at Osip?

For both lunch and dinner, there is no menu presented at the table. We curate an experience that celebrates a time and a place in Somerset, using ingredients that have been grown by us or our neighbours.

The experience features a series of small snacks, multiple savoury courses, desserts and petit fours. The price is £125 per person for the full Osip experience and at lunchtime we offer guests the choice of our lunch menu (£95) or our full Osip tasting menu (£125). You are able to select your preferred experience when making your booking.

We regularly offer additional courses that will be offered when you’re seated at your table.

Do you offer a wine pairing?

We offer the option of a bespoke wine pairing to go with your lunch or dinner. Our beverage programme celebrates small scale winemakers who farm in a responsible way as well as West country ciders and our own soft drinks made from wild and homegrown ingredients.

What is your policy on children dining at Osip?

We do not provide a children’s menu at Osip. Considering guest feedback, we only accept children of dining age in the restaurant, however, if there are unavoidable circumstances, please reach out to us to discuss.

What times can I book a table for in the evening?

In the evenings, we operate a 4-sitting service. The first sitting is at 18.00, then 18.45, 19.45 and 20.30. We are not able to take reservations between these times.

How long does the tasting menu experience take?

We recommend that diners allow between 2 to 2.5-hours to comfortably enjoy our lighter lunch experience. For guests who have opted for the full tasting menu allow 2.5 to 3-hours.

Do you have a bar area?

We do have a bar area at Osip where you will begin your experience with us. If you wish to arrive earlier than your booking, you are welcome to enjoy an aperitif here too.

Do you offer Corkage?

We do offer corkage which is set at £45 per bottle. We just ask that you let us know in advance either by adding it to your reservation notes or by sending us an email.

Is there disabled access?

Yes, there is for the restaurant. Unfortunately, we do not have disabled access for those wishing to stay with us. If you have any questions, please email info@osiprestaurant.com.

What is your policy on dogs?

We are unable to admit dogs into the restaurant or the rooms and we do not have any outdoor dining seating.

Events and large groups?

The largest party size we can host is 6 people. For private events, parties or book outs please get in touch for more information at info@osiprestaurant.com.

What is your cancellation policy?

RESTAURANT
If you cancel within 24-hours of the booking time or do not show up, the full price of the menu will be charged. Any cancellations made with more than 24-hour’s notice will not incur any fee.

ROOMS
We are fully sympathetic to your plans changing – once a booking is confirmed it is subject to the following cancellation policy: reservations can be cancelled or changed up to seven days prior to arrival. No-shows, cancellations or changes made after this time will result in a charge for the entire stay to the card provided.

Is there a dress code?

We do not have a dress code, we want you to be as comfortable as possible while you are with us.

Where do we park?

We have an onsite carpark that can accommodate 20 cars.
